What does add link to PDF do?

It attaches real PDF Link annotations: either an invisible rectangle over existing content, or new visible Helvetica text with a clickable rect.

How to add a link to a PDF

    Upload a PDF

    Open the PDF and go to the page where the link should appear. Nothing is uploaded — work stays in your browser.

    Place and configure the link

    Choose Invisible area (drag over existing text) or Insert link text. Set External URL or Internal page, then confirm. Drag markers to reposition.

    Generate and download

    Generate writes real PDF Link annotations, then download the updated file.

Can I link existing PDF text without adding new words?

Yes. Choose Invisible area, drag over the text, and set an External URL or Internal page. Generate writes a Link annotation only — no new text is drawn.

Unicode / non-Latin text?

Standard Helvetica fonts cover Latin and common Western characters. Unsupported glyphs become “?”. Urdu UI works; embedded link text still uses Helvetica.

Is anything uploaded?

No. Processing is browser-only. Clear frees memory; result blobs are revoked when you clear.

Encrypted PDFs and preview drag?

Password-protected or encrypted PDFs may fail or load with limited support. Overlay drag is preview-only until you Generate — annotations are written only then.
