Every tool runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.

How it works

Every file is shown as a bar whose width is its byte size — the same idea, live in the tool, and here as a worked example.

  1. 1

    Drop in your image

PNG, JPG or WebP, read the moment it lands — dimensions and exact byte size shown immediately, before anything is processed.

  2. 2

Set a quality or a target

Pick a quality level, or aim for an exact size (10 KB up to 1 MB). Every byte is measured, never estimated.

  3. 3

    See the real delta

Original and compressed are shown as proportional weight bars — the width is the file size, not a decoration.

Supported today

Static PNG, JPG and WebP. Animated PNG and GIF are detected and rejected with a clear message — not silently flattened to one frame.

Limits

25 MB per file, 20 files per batch on this page. Bulk Compress accepts up to 100 files and a 250 MB batch, then downloads a zip.

Privacy

Images are processed in your browser and are not uploaded anywhere for this tool. We don't control what your browser or extensions do outside that — so this is a description of what MiniFy does, not an absolute guarantee.

Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No — the compression tool runs entirely in your browser using the File and Canvas APIs. Your images never leave your device for this tool.

Why is PNG harder to shrink than JPG?

PNG is a lossless format, so most of the size reduction has to come from either reducing the color palette or re-optimizing how the image is filtered and compressed — not from simply re-saving it, which often makes PNGs larger, not smaller.

What happens to transparency if I convert to JPG?

JPG has no alpha channel, so transparent areas are filled with a solid matte color before conversion. You'll be able to choose that color, defaulting to white, and you'll see it before it happens.

Can I hit an exact file size every time?

Target size uses a bounded search over quality (and, if needed, dimensions) to get as close as possible. It's not guaranteed for every image — we'll always show you the closest size actually achieved, never a false success.

How do I compress a whole folder?

Use Bulk Image Compressor. It accepts a folder or up to 100 PNG, JPG, and WebP files, compresses them with one set of settings, and lets you download a zip — still entirely in your browser.
